The legacy of Ritva Puotila

Woodnotes co-founder Ritva Puotila is an internationally awarded textile artist whose work has been included in the MoMa collections. She got the idea for using paper string in home textiles during one of her private art exhibitions.

Handmade products

Paper yarn is spun from food-grade kraft paper, which is made from a renewable resource, wood. Our paper yarn ­carpets are woven in Finland, in Lapua, Ostrobothnia. They are cut to size and finished by hand.
